Street Kitchen: our team has become more cohesive since the introduction of Beeward

More than 8,000 recipes, hundreds of videos, books and magazines are the result of Street Kitchen. The Street Kitchen, which is named after Zé Fördős, has become one of the most influential brands in Hungarian gastronomy, with hundreds of thousands of followers on various social media platforms.

However, producing so much creative content requires serious and concerted work on an ongoing basis. Beeward has helped with this.

According to Beáta Major, Head of Operations and HR, the application has been very successful for the SK team, and they are planning to achieve a new community goal using the platform soon.

From the outside, Street Kitchen seems to be a well-knit team. Why did you feel the need to introduce Beeward?

At Street Kitchen, we have colleagues working with us in a number of areas in addition to the editorial team: in the assistant and finance roles, in the content production team of cameramen, editors, photographers, office management and the food team. We also work with external colleagues. Beeward was seen as a modern and easy-to-use reward platform that could collectively motivate colleagues and boost motivation within the team. It is a flexible, transparent system that everyone can sign up to, regardless of area or position, so colleagues feel that they are receiving a similar level of appreciation.

Beeward seemed like a modern and easy-to-use rewards platform that can both motivate employees and strengthen team engagement.

How was Beeward received by the working community?

Very positively. Many people have given feedback, enjoying the visible results of their work. Beeward fits in perfectly with the Street Kitchen ethos and our internal culture. Personalised rewards play a big part in motivating staff. It also allows us to recognise their performance more emphatically. Many of them like the fact that they can redeem a gift that is close to them.

Which of these are the most popular?

There are also material gifts, from soft drinks to lunch, and other rewards redeemable for fun and relaxation. There is also a wide range of intangible gifts: some people offer help or a hug. Sometimes, the season or the upcoming holidays are an incentive: for example, the Advent calendar or tickets to Christmas events are also on offer.

Is it fair to say that colleagues are cooperating better since the introduction of Beeward, or does some time still need to pass before this effect is felt?

Our staff the platform gives them the opportunity not only to get feedback on their work from managers internally, but also to reward each other.

I can see that the level of cooperation and motivation has increased just from using Beeward, which in itself is a team dynamic. It's a workable, effective system, and from a management perspective, I see it as helping staff to better understand each other's functioning and performance.

The platform signals birthdays, company anniversaries... How much do your colleagues use this service?

It's a popular opportunity, many people take advantage of it, and people like to toast and reward each other with points in the Hive. Of course, social media can also be a place for this on a birthday, but in a working community it takes on a different emphasis. In Beeward, you can set how long someone has been working for the company or with the team. When the anniversary of this is displayed in the system, for many of us it seems so unbelievable that so much time has passed. In such cases, nice messages are usually added to the points reward.

Can you say that Beeward?

Yes, absolutely. We are proud to display the certificate that proves that Street Kitchen is a motivating place to work. We mention to everyone at interviews that we are a Beeward partner. When we hire someone, if they agree, we add them to this system as well as to our own internal interfaces.

I think Street Kitchen is very different in that it's a well-planned, coordinated project that takes into account market considerations, and there are a lot of creative people in the team.

This is exactly right. Our team is relaxed, youthful and clearly has a community spirit.

They know that if they want to do their job effectively, they have to work together efficiently and well. They often praise each other, even for the smallest things.

With such a great and cohesive team, what could be the future for the Community scheme? Are there any new plans or challenges in this area?

My next goal is for us to set a team goal within Beeward, so that we can redeem the points we collect together.

We hope you are already following the Street Kitchen community!
