How does the points system work?

Points are a way for staff to reward each other. This can be for a variety of reasons, such as gratitude for helping a colleague with something. Each colleague has 100 points to give away at the beginning of the month. These cannot be accumulated and carried forward, however, and any points not awarded are lost.

You can offer any amount of the 100 points available in the points system each month, in which case the points hunt function is activated. So, for example, the user can give such a reward in return for completing a task or ask colleagues for help.

The user decides to whom and how many points to give out, limited only by their monthly budget. As soon as the reward point is transferred to another employee, it becomes a voucher, which can be redeemed for various rewards for yourself or someone else.

In the Beeward interface, the first box allows you to select who the employee will reward. After selecting the person, you specify how many points you will give him/her and you must provide a textual justification.

Recognition is the driving force behind the Beeward system. It makes it a daily habit for team members to motivate each other, and it's important for the recipient to know why they've been rewarded. Only a text description can do this, a nice icon or animation alone cannot replace the description.

This is not possible in any way. Its use would be completely contrary to the spirit of Beeward, which is based on reward and is designed to encourage better performance and strengthen workplace communities.

Commenting is the only way in which the system could provide negative feedback or punishment, but since the introduction of Beeward there has been no example of this.

The most outstanding result of the community app is that colleagues are more attentive to each other and help each other more effectively in their daily work. The reward system shapes their cooperative approach, making it easier for them to notice when there is an opportunity to help each other. The key to this is recognition, points just make the system measurable, fair and playful.

A few months after the Beeward launch, this community spirit of listening to and helping each other becomes part of the organisational culture. If a new team member comes into the workplace at this time, he or she is already exposed to this approach.

Of course, in the medium to long term, the additional benefit of community building will be that the team will become more productive as the quality of work improves.

You can try this, but it is useless. In the long run, there is no benefit for the user, because if, for example, two employees pass on their entire monthly points pool to each other, they will not have any points left to reward others.

The downside of this gimmick is that it often provokes resentment or reticence from colleagues. Thus, the tricky team member may get much less recognition from others, missing out on rewards.

Beeward's experience shows that the initial subterfuge stops, and those who try it find that they can benefit much more from the system if they adapt to its approach.

Deleting a user will result in the loss of points. We therefore recommend that a colleague who leaves the team buys back all their points from the rewards - either for themselves or as a community gesture to their colleagues. The leaving team member decides this on his/her own, depending on the budget available.

This is only possible if you have given a point in a comment. The comment justifying the reward can be edited (modified), but this only applies to the text, the points cannot be withdrawn.

No. Admins have the same rights as all other users. However, there is no doubt that in some cases, 1 point from a manager - because of its importance and weight - often means more than 50 points from other colleagues.

No. User balances can only be viewed by the admin or the queen bee.
